Self Care (Part 5): Drink Water

How much water do you drink daily? Did you know that the average adult human body is 50-65% water? This of course varies depending on how active you are or how fit you are and of course several other factors. We also lose water through various bodily functions, and therefore it is important that you replenish this water. Most people are walking around dehydrated and do not even know it. Did you know some of the symptoms of dehydration (which range from mild to severe) include: dark urine, fatigue, headaches, feeling sleepy, irritability, confusion, dry mouth, not urinating often, dry skin, and yes, even fainting? The list is long, but the point is, drink water, and though it depends on weight, the average adult should aim to drink at least a gallon of water a day. The closer to that the better, but don’t say you won’t drink because you can’t drink that much. Do you drink caffeinated beverages (soda, coffee, and yes tea, energy drinks?), then you need more water....don’t say I didn’t tell you o!
