Puzzle Anyone?

Feeling overwhelmed, too much going on, and not sure how to tackle them or where to start? Imagine having a 550- or 1000-piece puzzle (I love puzzles), what do you do – you dump it all on the table to get started (that’s what I do anyway). I then start finding the edges and go from there. Same thing applies when feeling overwhelmed, and here are some steps that will help:

  • Compartmentalize – this only works for some time, but it comes in handy in a pinch until you are able to process through.

  • List all that’s on your mind – write them down in order of importance, then tackle one at a time asking yourself the following

    • Can I do anything about this?

    • If no, who can do something about it, if the answer remains no, then chuck it, no sense in holding on to something you can’t control or do anything about

    • If yes, then what can I do, is it immediate or can it wait? Is it something I can ask someone else to help with?

    • Take action!

Stick with it, sleep on it, write it down, take one step at a time, it will be resolved….the only thing guaranteed in this world is change, so therefore, this too shall pass, but don’t bury your head in the sand while it’s passing. Make the best of it, create the world you want to see.
