Practice Healthy Self Care

Healthy self care means we know when to say no, take time for ourselves, and engage in those activities that positively add to us. Yes, we should be present in each moment and enjoy time with family, but it is equally as important to know when to retreat and pour back into ourselves. Know when your embrace of the holidays, honoring your loved ones, and all the “celebrations” of “avoidance” is becoming unhealthy. Those of us who are the proverbial "givers", often give until it hurts, and then feel bad when we say no. Today, give yourself permission to say no, family and friends will be fine, after all, you can't give what you don't have. So, take care of yourself.
